I have replaced 3 of those damn actulators from 2wd/4wd but have never had a noise from them.. Are you sure it is not coming from your belt housing?? does it wine all the time or just at low speeds?

Part itself is I belive $260 from the dealer, but you can get then from Ronayers.com for low $200.. The primary clutch face plate has a bearing in it, when it wears out it will make a wining sound until you hit around 6mph or higher & the engine brake release, does it go away after you reach this aprox speed?

Im about fed up with my 360. When it had 100 hours on it the actuator went bad then when it got about 270 the primary and secondary clutches messed up (815 dollars) then about 275 hours the dealer did not put them in right so they both messed up again(the dealer paid this time) not the actuator is messed up agian.

I replaced the 1st one in Aug. 03, then the last one April 04.. Both times water had entered the actulator motor housing & destroyed it (only takes a few drops of water) however it never made any noise, it just didn't do anything..
These actulators are worriesome to me because of all the problems I have had with them (although not one problem with the belt actulator) This last time I sealed it up with silicone, hope this prevents any further problem.. Most prarie owners have no problem what so ever with these parts, but if you do there very agrivating & expensive..
Best thing to do if your clutch plate bearing has gone bad is to replace it, ronayers has if for I think $42, I determined mine was bad by 1st taking the CVT cover off, & on the primary clutch you'll see a plate with I think 8 bolts securing it on.. In the center of the plate you'll see a bearing, turn it by hand. If there is resistance to it or does not glide smooth as silk there is a good posibilty it needs to be replaced. Mine moved just fine but I could feel kinks in it.
