Yeah I can also vouch for the fact that reds 650 is very fast.
I regularly ride with a friend that has a p700 and I have my 650 tuned well enough to beat him most of the time. I had a race with red a few weeks ago after toasting my buds 700. I was with him for the first 80 feet or so at which point his 650 easily pulled away and just kept on going.
I have put my 650 on the GPS which said my top speed was 64 mph. The key to getting an accurate reading out of a GPS is giving it enough time to catch up. In my opinion a typical unit needs about 15-25 seconds of sustained speed to get an accurate reading.
For what its worth reds650 is far from stock..... STOP making excuses for your slow P700's.

My 700 is not slow... it's that some 650's think their fast. LOL As for my GPS it doesn't need very long at all because it's a fast GPS compared to my garmin 3+ or the megellian series. My 700 works well and in the future it probably will spend a couple days in Dale's garage for some push up work. I hoped on my 650 for a bit on Sunday and it was Slowwww compared to my 700. I also thought red told me his ODO was reading around 119. Metallikev As for my picts LOL I wish I had that in my front yard I, go to Newfoundland for that LOL. You come up and I'll take you on a week quad trail you will talk for years about.... I go atleast once a year.

The only thing I wish I had when I raced Dale was 25" tires. I know that he would still win but when you are pulling 27" vs 25" it makes a huge difference.
I remember when I first put the 27's on I got depressed due to the major power loss. Then I started the power quest.....
I too will probably employ Dale to trick some stuff out for me I just dont want to lose any low end power. I noticed that compared to mine his takes a second or two to kick in but when it does it brings on a big grin.

Dale's is very fast on the low end too, however I feel that my 700 (with only a few mods) is very close to it so I don't feel Dale lost anything on the lowend atleast you will not miss it if you did. It does really depends who can lock down the most traction. PD were you running with Dale with the mudlights yet? But when Dale's kick in do what I do pull over and stop or expect boulders in the teeth and dust.... I think that's why I'm still coughing. We did no clocking so I don't know how fast Dale would do 300" but I know I wouldn't want to do it much faster than what his would do because it gets quite squrrly at full speed. When I drove Dale's bike I put it 4x4 and put my weight over the handle bars and tried pinning it from a stop. The damn thing still lifted the wheels and I had to let off, (I'm a light guy thou). Dale's bike would bring the ODO to 114 really fast just for fun. If Dale runs July the first we will have a 300" timed event I think. Dale's 650 still ran cooler than any other 650 does too. By the way the same GPS was used on both bikes.

Heymetallikev: Your about 38 miles as the crow flies from me, I spent a lot of time in Oswego at the Alcan plant, I worked for Alcan in Kingston as Customer service rep. visited there often, in fact the summer of 78 I lived there. As Jason knows I'm doing a tour across Newfoundland this summer if things work out well, possibly get Jason to take a bunch of us next year. If your interested keep in touch.
