Fast idle, dies with added throttle pressure! Please help
#1
I have a kawasaki bayou 400, and i let my son clean the carburetor becuase it had been sitting with fuel in it for about 2 years now. So now that he cleaned it, i tried to start it up and it idles EXTREMELY high! like its at full throttle but in neutral. but when i do push the throttle, it dies....now i am really confused! also, when i turn the choke down after its started, it dies as well. i thought maybe he hooked the throttle up backwards, but i think its right because when you press it, the plate opens, and when its depressed, its closed(when the carb is off, god knows what its doing when its on). so i tried messing with the idle screw but it turns forever and with no results. any input would be greatly appreciated. thanks

Get a service manual. Take carb apart. Blow out passages, jets etc. Put back together as per svc. manual. Adjust. Ride.
