I've noticed my P700 is hard to change gears from rev-to-hi..... or hi-to-rev..... I ALWAYS have to tap the throttle to get the gear selector to move.... any ideas?? ANybody else experiencing this???

(btw..I've tried upping my idle a bit, but it doesn't seem to help... just a blip of the throttle works)

I would think you need to adjust the shift linkage to solve the provlem. Check out the tech tips on http://atv.dnsalias.com

 

Mine did that when it was new, but hasn't done it for 1000 miles.

How bad do you wanna know the answer?

Your belt is loose. Adjust it tight and it will spin the driven pulley at idle enough to shift smooth

 

I've had success from lowering the idle speed, but the loose belt tip sure makes sense.

I don't think I've bought anything at the same place.... most of what I bought, I got from Ebay.... I go for the best price, and usually find it there. Alot of "Buy-It-Now" type deals. The only thing I ordered from normal company was the CDI from Dyna. Which is working GREAT btw!! [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif[/img]

I'm going to change the wheels and tires next... though, I might be getting a spare set of stock wheels and polishing them -vs- buying aftermarket wheels. I don't like how most of the aftermarket wheels stick out and toss mud clods at you all the time!

Most likely will be getting 26" Mudrunners, or 26" Mud lites
