Default ATV Drag races in Halifax, NS on Saturday

The guys said that the Green Monster was in for one of those "very complicated" oil changes. He said that their YFZ 450 had "self-clearanced" a new hole in the block to make it easier to change the oil, lol. Those guys must be hard on gear! It was nice of the Simons to drive all the way to Liverpool to take part in the fund raiser. Will it be just drags in New Glasgow or will there be other events as well? The green plastic.....is that some of the Mike Penland plastic?

Hey Novakaw650, yes it's just drags in New Glasgow. The wrist pin bosses on the piston broke in the YFZ, made quite a mess.
Yes the "Green Monster" has the Penland lime green plastic.
And yes Simon & Simon do put their stuff to the test!! LOL

What goodies do you have in the Green Monster besides the heads? And what would One expect to spend to bring it to the Green Monster Specs?

Hey Tuff, the head porting is the bigest power maker on the Green Monster. Cam timing has to be dialed in perfectly (with in .25 deg) besides that, alot of time on the dyno.
I'll put a video of it on our web site next week, after this weekends race, as well as a video of the new and improved V force.
fundypowersports.com go to the downloads page for video's
Our regular kawi V porting is $600.00 Canadian ($500.00 if we're building the engine), the Green Monster porting is $800.00

Hey Shotgun, yes man no problem. We're usually 5-6 weeks behind but give me a couple of days notice and your in.
We have an engine and a chassis dyno.
Have you done any drag racing with your 850?
If so how quick is it?

No raceing yet, Mickey's still working on the motor, waited 2 months to get the crank stroked.

I hope to get it back soon.

What would I need to bring? What tires for dynoing and what the best for your type of raceing. Can I run open exhaust? Do I need to bring Jets or can I buy them from you?

I've always wanted to see Nova Scotia, and meet some of the guys on the forum. You, Helix, Nova, red650 and others, are all of you in the same area.

Thanks for your help and thanks for fitting me in if I can make it.

Rick

Hey shotgun, it doesn't matter on tires for dynoing, we'll use the engine dyno (right off the crank)
The ITP Mudlites seem to work pretty well on the 4x4 at mosttracks we run on.
Yes I have jets and yes you can run open exhaust.
Yes we are all with in a 100 miles or so.
