Default 22" vs 24" V Force Haulers

I'm wondering if anyone has experiance with 24" haulers on 8.5" rims instead of 11" rims? I'm buying haulers and I understand people like the 24's better but they are running them on 11" rims so they actually flatten out to around 22". I don't want to buy new rims again and I'm thinking of running either 22's or 24's on my 8.5" rims. Let me know your thoughts or experiances with your paddles.

You don't want the paddles to be flat across the top. They will spin too much on take-off. They should have a nice even arc .

I must disagree. I might be wrong and don't want to argue with anybody but my experience is that the flatter the better. If you deflate the tire so it is flat across the paddles it will get more traction. We have experimented both ways and it hooks up a lot better when they are flat.

If someone could explain why it would be better with an arc I would like to hear it. Always looking for better traction but we tried it on a steep hill and it was a huge difference when the paddles were flat.

rockkrawler is correct skat-trak recomends that the 24inch paddle be mounted on the 11 inch wide wheel just for that reason.

So what your saying is I should probably go with the 22's because the 24's will make the arch too big? But then why not 20's...it seems like they have the most square paddle design? I understand the idea of airing down in my jeep because it let's more surface area spread out on the sand for better flotation. It seems it would be the same for paddles but the only traction comes from the paddles and not the entire tire?

I think 20's would be too small and you would top out even sooner which is already a problem on the V. I have seen the 24's in action and they are great but you have to put them on a wider rim so if you dont want to do that than stick with the 22's they work great also. I have the 22's also because i did not want to go get another pair of rims.
