V fan running ? Need your input
#1
I bought a v for my girlfriend, and I rode it last weekend and I notice that the fan was running a bit when I was ridding but what suprised me, is when I shut the motor off. I could not beleive how long the fan was running ( it seemed like 3 to 4 minutes). It was about 74 degrees out I am woundering wath it will do when I ride it in the 85 degrees. My question is, is your V the same or should I have it checked.
Thank You

Couldn't it be bad for your engine to run fairly cool where the fan is almost never coming on?
Due to an accident, I upgraded to the IMS radiator and installed a fluidyne electric fan.. I can hear the fan kick on and off durning long trail rides, and normally will run for about 30-45 seconds after i stop or turn off the bike. I would imagine if I used something like Evan's Coolant, that the fan would very rarely come on, or may not come on again. Would this be good that the engine is running that cool? I heard someone say that the engines could "cold seize" when they are not allowed to run "at temp"... any truth to this?

Talk to Alltoys and get a new CDI. The timing change will make the bike run MUCH cooler. My fan almost never comes on, even after hauling my a$$ up a mountain. Also you will get more RPM and no reverse limiter. Price is cheap too!
