Default KFX400 Engine Mods / Carb?

I just finished doing some of the basic upgrades to my bike (pipe, airbox, suspension)and I want to begin doing some advanced modifications to the motor but wanted to take a slow approach. I've already picked up some Hotcams and was going to upgrade the valve springs, add the DRZ gasket and get it ported and polished. What I'm not sure is if I should replace the carb also at this point. Eventually I want to end up with a 440/450 but should I wait until then to replace the carb or will it help or hurt me if I replace it now with these initial upgrades. I was looking at the FCR carb. Any feedback would help.

From what I've read on the forums you can upgrade now to either the 39 or 41. In combination with your current mods plus a CDI either will work well with the 39 having slightly more low end and the 41 with more top end. However if you punch it out to 440/450 you'll prolly be better off with the 41.
