kdx or kx into tecate chassis
#1
is it possible to use either of these engine in a 1987 tecate-4? is there a big difference between them? or would a 3 wheeler engine be better? sorry for all the questions, i just want a simple solution while i rebuild the original engine.
P.S. who sells hi performance engine kits for tecate?
thanks

Of course anything is possible The 85 and 86 KX250 and the 86 and 87 Tecate 3 should bolt right into the tecate 4 Chassis. the main problem is that none of them have a counter balancer on the engine, like the Tecate 4 does. Be prepared to have your fillings shook loose! Other then that, the motor swap will probably be fine. The Tranny gears in the Tecate 3 and 4s might be made a little different because of the increased load they bear, but I am not sure.
