dang double post but here is question: i was thinking of adding a Full Yoshi pro series titanium exhaust, is this the best one that i can buy money and sound are not and issue. I must beat my friends yfz450 so i need the best. Any help would be great.

Also what about a rev box for the extra 1000 rpm? who makes the best one and do i need to have any worrys about it not working?

Why worry about getting the best and most expensive? When your friend puts a new pipe on he will still be walking the dog on you in a straight line. And i don't think just adding a full system and rejetting is going to make you faster anyways. Just my .02

The thing is he will never mod his bike past a slip on i doubt we will even do that, his dad will not let him. And if some how he does do some work i will get a bbk if needed, i have wanted one anyway.

No offense to sparx, but this one girl got a slip-on and rejet for her KFX and the difference was absolutely incredible. I just got my full system and will put it on with help this weekend.

If you do the jetting right and get a slipon, it will make a very nice difference.

the best system is the CTracing pipe.dirtwheels did a dyno test and it has the best bottom end and the best top end by far.all the other pipes would fall out like the stock pipe, but the ct held almost top hp all the way to red line pluss its only 92db.

Your right quadnoob, a slip on and full exhaust really does wake the z up, the exhaust mod I did was night and day difference, I was just referring to the yfz always being faster in a modification race. First off it is about 30lbs. lighter than the z and starts out with bout 42cc's more engine not to mention a better suspension to handle the extra power. Don't get me wrong I think the Z is a great bike but does not have the potential of the yammy. But if the kid is not going to do mods to it, start out with a full system,(yoshi, hmf,ct) add a rev box cdi and the intake cam and you should be on your way to handing your bud a whoopin'.

thanks sparx that is what i wanted to know, and if i have to i will just get a bbk later this summer, order all my elika shocks last night and from what i hear they are great. I stilll plan to go with the full yoshi raceing pipe, not the cheaper one. Also which rev box is the best, i have found the White bro's is about 100 dollars cheaper than most, but which should i get?

forget the cdi and cams, get an exhaust. then replace the stock carb, it is way too restrictive, if you put cams in with stock carb, it would be like drinking a milkshake through a coffee straw. Get a edlebrock carb its around $500, but it will pull your arms off

I'm not sure about which cdi is the best, I haven't done that mod yet but today I just installed a 13tooth front sprocket and that is going to work out pretty well for trail riding. I am normally in 2nd and 3rd gear through the trails I ride and with the 13t 2nd and 3rd are pulling a lot harder.
Last week I ran into a guy with a Z and he had front and rear elka's with rezzies, we sat my z and his next to each other and his with elkas sat 3inches lower. I'd say you'll be happy with them.

Here's the deal...

For the pipe...pick the one within your price range and take the time to learn how to jet, which is far more important than the brand of pipe. It ALL comes down to tuning, I don't care what anybody says I see it first-hand. If it were me, I'd take an HMF, good price, nice sound, great power, then start the tuning process.

Unfortunately, its gonna take more than a pipe and filter to take a YFZ. You can get a set of HotCams for $250 shipped, and an FCR 40mm carb for around $350. Both of those mods are not hard to install if you have the manual. But again, jetting is GOING to be the deciding factor most of the time, so do it right.
