KFX400 Running Problem?

Well yes and no. I say its easy because Ive been jetting carbs on V8's in cars for years so ATV's was no real big difference but if you havent ever done it then it may be a pain. All you do is remove your fuel bowl on your carb and you should have access to your jets. There might also be a clip on the needle to adjust as well. Just read your plugs then if they look bad (black or white) then take it to your dealer and have them re-jet it. You can buy a re-jet kit that comes with an assortment of jets so you can move to a bigger jet to help with a lean condition or smaller jets for a rich condition.

Before you think about rejetting, a helpful word of advice. You'll probably need an impact driver to get the original brass screws off your bowl. Once they're out, replace them with some allen head screws and lock washers, you can pick them up at napa, or most hardware stores. But rejetting a z is fairly easy, and the guys on here are willing to help you through it step by step if need be, just ask? And if you don't have a manual to show you where things are, just do a google search for "suzuki parts finder" and you'll get a list of sites that you can go into and find an illustrated parts breakdown for whatever your working on.

Looks pretty carboned to me, which means it's a little on the rich side, but it also looks pretty rusty, and it might be time to replace it. You might not be getting enough spark and that could be why it's carboned.

Will be moving to Wilmington area, looking 4 about 20 acres in Brunswick County to have a house and track built. I will miss the desert riding and thats about it. Job market is down the tubes here and my wife and I really don't want to raise our kids here.

I understand that, I was there (LV) for a month on tdy. I fully understand, it was definitely more of a culture shock than I thought it would be. I have a friend transferring to Seymour Johnson just up the road from Wilmington. If and when I head out ther to visit, I'll pm you and let you know. Hopefully I'll be hauling my quad, and we can ride together sometime.
