Default Dyna CDI working in the Brute

We are running a Dyna CDI in a friends Brute. The Brute has great power, but, the Dyna wakes it up nicely like it does the Prairie.

Kawi has different part numbers for the stock CDI for the P700 and the Brute. The P700 is 21119-0004 and the Brute is 21119-0025. My guess is the difference is simply programing for the KEBC behavior. The Brute KEBC seems more active than the Prairie's. I'll be interested in knowing more about the actual differences. But, so far the Dyna is working fine in the Brute and the Brute CDI is working fine in my P700.

Ciao.

I was pretty sure it would work, I am glad someone has done the switch and confirmed it......So does the Brute CDI "feel" like your stock 700 CDI powerwise? and how fast has the Brute topped out with the Dyna?

Hmm, interesting information. We have been trying to get one to check this out and this is encouraging. I think we will wait till we get one to verify before we give it the Dyna SOA. Thanks for the heads up DWB.

DirtyWhite Boy, why do you think the cdi changes are with the KEBC? Are they doing the engine brake controlling thru the cdi now, and if so, does the Dyna control it the same way?

That's interesting news. I may just have to pull the CDI out of my Prairie and try it in my new Brute...

You're likely right. It was just a random guess in between rides last night. I was up north at a friends cabin. The controller, not the CDI should regulate that. It seems like the Brute actuator is more active than the P700. And his stock CDI didn't make my KEBC more active. So, scrap that brain fart. I have no clue what the differences are, but they aren't noticable to us on either machine.

It definitely feels more powerful than a stock P700. I didn't do any top end runs on it and I failed to ask the owner. We were mudding this weekend so it didn't come into play.

Thanks Scott. Keep us informed!

Whoops. I just reread that question....

So does the Brute CDI "feel" like your stock 700 CDI powerwise?

Yes it does. I originally read the question as "does the brute feel more powerful than my P700.

The stock brute CDI made no noticable difference to my P700. It revved and acted as if I had the stock in there.

I suspected the timing curves were the same (5 degree and 28 degree) or at least close, and it seems they are......Good news the Dyna's will work in the 750....I have a hunch the modules will too.
