650 belt light

Default 650 belt light

I unplugged the belt switch by accident, went thruogh the reset steps in the service manual and still have flashing belt light. Where did I go wrong.

Default 650 belt light

Just above the clutch cover, hidden under the colored plastic of your bike , there is a black and a white wire harnes with about 3 to 4 wires in each. With the key off , disconnect them and interchange them both (black to white,white to black). Turn the key on for 10 seconds ,DO NOT START THE BIKE!
Then turn key off , put wires back (black-black, Whie-white) You should be cured. you simulated a belt failure by disconnecting the belt sensor with the key turned on . This procedure resets' it.
