brute force stock tires
#1
i know dunlops suck but are the brutes tires any better than the stock tires on the praire? my brother has a praire 650 and those tires were complete junk, it was actually funny they were so bad.

I just saw a pic of a new BF750 (on another forum) that got stuck in some mud that was not deep at all (in fact, the mud didn't even come up to the center caps of the rims! It was just stopped in its tracks spinning all 4 wheels and the stock dunflops where completely coated with mud (apparently they were not self cleaning like a good mud tire does). One of the very first mods to my P650 was to replace those junky dunflops and I think that is probably the best first mod for a BF too.

The Dunlops are complete crap. They handle like dookie and make the bike roll in off-camber situations. I am ordering some ITP Series C-6 rims loaded with ITP Holeshot ATRs tomorrow. Hopefully I will have them for next weekend's riding.

Grizzkiller, I could not agree more with you on the stock tire issue. I bought my 700 in March and found no problem in the snow...but along come spring and the mud. It was embarassing that a bike as good as the 700 was having a hard time in the mud. When Honda Bottom Feeders were going through and I was having a harder time then they were, I had enough. I bought a set of 26" mudlights, mainly because they were the best priced locally, and this made a world of difference. All is better now, I found that the bike handles better and no rough bumpy ride from the Mudlites. In defence of Kawasaki, I would think that most manufacturers do not spend alot on the original tires. They will cut corners where they can to keep prices competitive.
