Stupid CVT Question
Kinda a stupid question, but since I'm a Kawi newbie, I have an excuse. The CVT snorkle that comes out of the top of the CVT cover...does that blow air or suck air? Dust kills belts and I want to try to develop some sort of filter to keep getting so much dust in the CVT housing. I live in the desert and there is one thing we have an abundance of and that is DUST! I can probably build some sort of air filter if I only knew where the air intake (if there is one) was.

Stupid CVT Question
The one under the seat is the exhaust. The intake is at the front lower corner of the CVT cover and runs up under the handle bars, in front of the airbox. Take off the small oval cover in front of the handle bars and you can see the CVT intake on the right side of the quad. the left side is the airbox intake. Anyway the one you are talking about blows.

Stupid CVT Question
scoobybri there is no such thing as a stupid question. mdg is right though the one under the handle bars is the intake
a filter would be a good idea but you wouldn't want to restirct any air flow as the belt might over heat .
I think KOD uses a piece of panty hose to cover his opening to keep dust and the like out haven't tried it but sounds like a good idea.
I am sure he would help you out or go to his website very good info and good pics also.
