I bought the HP2017 belt for my '03 P650 and put it on. With no shims in it I am at 1" of deflection. I would much rather be at the lower end of the spec than towards the higher end. What have others out there been getting with the deflection with the P700 belt in the P650 from Dayco?

i would say if your shivs are good a new 700 belt would need more shims then a 650 belt .... so the belt is eather not the right size or somthing elce is wrong.. not sure how you can check the belt ..there would be so little difrance between them just by looking... don't forget after you install the belt ...turn the driven clutch by hand a few times to make sure the belt rides to the top of the shiv before checking the deflection.......

 

Thanks for the reply but I have ran it around the yard and then checked deflection and it is at 1". I just got a new 650 kawi belt from bonzi and am going to see how that measures. This is really weird......
