Just installed P700 factory belt on my 03 p650 with a 1mm shim.
650 belt ran perfect with .6mm shim
Belt squeales in gear at idle now.
Is it OK to run it that tight, I don't let it idle in gear anyway.
Does the belt wear in after a couple rides
Checked deflection best I could and it seemed tight but within limits
Seems like you ran yours pretty tight for a while if I remember right.

Anybody else have an opinion, be glad to hear it.

Thanks

Mine still queals at idle after 1100 miles, but only very faintly. It pulled pretty hard in gear when I first put it in, but stopped after my first ride. It Squealed louder at idle then.

It lasts longer that way, plus it works better that way. Stronger takeoff, more controllable at very low speeds. The shifter shifts smoother that tight. Everything is great, except you can't leave it idling in gear. I actually do not know of someone that hurt it by leaving it idling in gear, but I am not going to try it myself.

Thanks for the quick reply
You sure eased my mind, really didn't want to change that shim.
Mine doesn't creep in gear now so it must not be real tight.
Does a tight belt effect top speed by not letting the clutch shift all the way out?
If you and KOD make another trip to Mountain City, let me know.

It's hard on my ears when it squeals in gear! I hate nosies that I don't want to hear. I like it a little tigher than too loose.

Belt adjustment has no affect whatsoever on top speed. It is phisically impossible for it to do so. Some people have claimed a speed change, but there must be another reason for what they experienced.

The shims are loose and do not affect anything once the CVT has upshifted.

However, a longer belt will slow the machine down. A wider belt will too

I was being beat up bad by a tough call when I typed that. It is by mistake. Wider belt = faster.

What happened is a guy is trying to access shares from another windows 2000 domain that is in the same forest. He is prompted for credentials. When he types any other credentials he can access the share. Also, if he logs off and back on as another user and tries to access the share, the same thing happens. In fact he can acess the share using the first user account (even get in using the credentials he used to log on in the first place). It is totally wigged out. I was there until 8M trying to fix it.

I wish you guys could help me with that one.

This is a good one!!!

My first guess would be is that he is not getting the correct token from the KDC. the reasons for this are to many to type.

Has replication occured sence the share was set?

Is the account part of a universal group with permisions to the share? GC problems?

Without knowing more of the layout of the forest as you know I could guess for ever and not even come close.

Good luck paul
