Default Cold Air Intake Mod

I did another air mod this morning. I wanted more air but I didnt want it trapped under the outer cover. I got this idea and pondered on it and then decided it try it. It works really good but time will tell if it holds up to the weather or not. A very hard rain downpour will be the test. I can always modify it by putting Red Duct tape over the holes if needed. I know Im getting a lot more air and for the better. I took some spark plug pictures but havent put them up yet. For some reason my thumbnails are not showing up but the pictures are still there for view.

The site may say underconstruction but it will still work.

Hey KOD

Just back from Vaca and checking last weeks posting and found your air mods interesting??? Not in what you did, but your pics of the spark plugs on your site, pics 22 thru 26'

I have been reading everything I can on plugs and listening to a lot of opinions about plug reading.

Lately I have been following the church of "center electrode color designates proper or improper spark plug heat range---and top of threaded ring "last thread" designates proper jetting--- If my preacher man is correct then, I would say your plug is either right on, or a little too hot----and your jetting is too rich????

Your center electrode looks white(proper coloring is to be tan)
And your last ring looks black?????

I just bought the next hotter plug for mine (one number lower in a NGK) and i am curious how it is gonna look after a hard run.

Looks like Kisssofdeath needs the "Nyroc" webserver mod. He is doing cool stuff on his website though.

I wish I could afford to put some money into another computer but I cant do it at this time. Reason being, I need to buy an new washing machine tomorrow. I need my extra money for emergencies like that.

I think I will run my jetting just the way it is for now. This weekend coming I will know how its running and adjust accordingly if needed.

OleManMoses, I dont understand some of your reply.

KOD, I think I can't go riding in VA next weekend.

I have to be back saturday at 4:00PM. If I do ride, it has to be closer to home so I can get back.

I have almost compleetely fixed my old trailer so I can get rid of it. My new trailer turned out real nice. I love it. I can lift it up and down all day long. My old trailer was just getting too hard for me to lift. Not that I don't have muscles to lift it, but I got a pinched nerve in my wrist last time I lifted it. Besides, after riding all day on the ATV, I can't lift the old trailer to put it back until I have slept and rested. That is a pain too.

I told myself I was never going to lift it again, and I left it down on the garage floor this time, but it is harder to park, work, and walk in the garage like that.

Im glad you got your trailer fixed then. Your new one pulls excellent and will be all you will ever need.

I need to go back to VA. If nothing else to pick up my service manual from Erdil. I also want to ride down Beaver airport and see if I can find me a race or two and try out my new airboxs/mods and jetting.

Since you wont be going can I send you some money and a box so you can ship me your dyna cdi to try out with my 4 degree key? I have GOT to know what it will do with it. Maybe two weeks later we can go down Enoree again.

You can borrow that CDI if you want to. I don't know why you wanna try it. It will only make a difference at the top end. But, possibly it could hurt your starter.

That new Prairie 750 with the better heads and bigger carbs seems like would be a good thing for you to save cash for. It sounds realy cool. I know that new P750 will have a better clutch. I bet that new 750 Prairie will also have improved cooling and front suspension. That would be really cool.

I know Im taking a chance breaking the starter with it but at least I will know if its worth it or not. No matter what I do or how much money I put into my 02 P650 I will probably be buying a P750 next year. I will be buying one straight out so anything I do to my P650 I wont be throwing it away.

That will be the ultimate SRA machine out and IMO the ultimate ATV period. I know some like the IRS but my P650 rides plenty good for me now. Also with the stability an IRS will never match.
