there is an old honda thread where a lot of people thought that a honda 300ex was a better all around quad than the mojave. i disagree strongly. i have raced more than one 300ex while my quad was stock and their quads were too. i beat them by like 2 quad lengths in a drag race. later i took my airbox lid off and beat them by 3 quad lengths. face it, the only thing that the 300ex has on the mojave is the weight. the mojave has such superior features to the 300ex relative to performance. the 300ex is two hundred and eighty some odd cc's with single overhead cams, air cooling and mediocre suspension. the mojave puts out more power than the 300ex with the mojave's superior dual overhead cam 4 valve 249cc engine. it also has a liquid cooling system that is said to put the amount of power the mojave produces over that of most 300cc atv's. frankly the mojave cannont be beat by a z-250, 250 ex, 300ex, or blaster stock for stock. think about it, can a 400ex hang with a kfx 400? thats not even funny, u know it can't. for what it's worth, the 300ex is a good quad, with a lot of available mods, but i think those 300ex riders who havent raced a mojave because there are very few around and automatically assume they can beat it are sadly mistaken, i also disagree with the dirtwheels results of the mojave vs 300ex shootout, the rider of that mojave in that shootout must have had a severe disability to lose (not that the mojave is that much faster than the 300ex)to that 300ex. 11 to 1 high compression 249cc enginge, dohc 4 valve liquid cooled... need i say more?

 

i couldn't have said it better[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif[/img] plus about the weight thing a mojave weighes 379 and a 300ex is like 370 it feels lighter due to a higher center of gravity witch ain't a good thing plus once you cut off the mudflaps you lose about 20lbs lol

 

well the 300ex and mojave performance wise are real close in stock form.Your right the 300ex's are not that fast because my old lakota with just a pipe and not jetted only lost by about 1 quad length.However you do have to say the 300ex has a slight edge in handling and suspension,but the mojave's engine is awesome and they can produce alot more power than the 300ex when modding.Also don't feel bad your mojave lost against the 300ex in that shootout,because my freaking raptor350 lost to the 300ex also and thats bullcrap.

 

yer both rite, it's good to see that there are riders that know what they're talking about on this website. and what the hell does dirtwheels know anyways, i mean, a raptor 350 is basically a newer, racier warrior, and easily put, the warrior blew the 300ex away

alot of it is riding skill when it comes to equal machines,the machine works does the operator?I have seen such hipocrisy in dirt wheels from issue to issue I dont believe any of it.I think the nitpicking is ridicoulous an most people that ride arent gonna notice a slight diference in suspension from 1 model to the other etc.I love people that say brand X is junk or brand A is junk,I laff an say a machine is what an how you take care of it alot of times an cases.
