Question for NYROC or anyone that knows
#1
read a post today that the dynojet kit rocks and rolls in a 360 prairie---If so i want one---buttttt--just like everything else, i read some conflicting reports on the dyno jet in search----the only thing that interests me in the dyno jet kit is the needle!!! How important is it to have a different taper than stock on the needle??? Can needles be purchased seperately??? Maybe SUDCO??? Can I reshape my needle???

I'm running Dynojet needles, & kiehn ( spelling ) jets, & mine runs great... unless something changed in the last 2 months, the only way to get their needles, is in the kit ( IMO, the needles are ( almost ) worth the cost of the kit... I suppose anything is possible, concerning tapering your own needles, however it is more than I'd undertake...

Funny you bring this up.
As I spoke about earlier the KLX 300 uses the same CVK as our 360.
They spoke very highly of the Dynojet kit on a website I was reading.
Thats where I found the info about drilling the vacuum hole or what ever its called.
The older 400 Prairies as well as some steet bikes have the same CVK.
I spoke with Highlifter about the kit for the 360. They said it comes with 132 thru 148 jets.
You know a person could make their own special jets with the right size drill bit. Hmmmm.
Seems a 140 or below would only be good at the top of Pikes Peak or something.
I agree with you I would like to try it because of the reshaped needle.
The way I look at it, the kit is only bout 50 bucks, assortment of jets as well as a new needle.
Jets are bout 7 to 10 bucks a piece separatley.

Hey BRT---lets not jump to conclusions on the small jet sizes---I understand DYNOJET does not use the same measurements as KEIHIN for jets---numbers may appear smaller on the dyno's but in reality are not---Some one also remarked to me in the past that the dyno jets feed fuel differently than a stock jet due to their design?? I keep getting more and more psyched about buying the dyno kit.
Can you pass along any more info or maybe a link to the site about drilling out our carb??? I would be very interested

I did not know that about the jet sizes. Good thing I didn't chuck one up in the drill press and start bore hoggin.
As far as the websites on the CVK, I just did a search on Google for KLX 300 and started surfin.
Figures I didn't bookmark it.
Off hand I don't remember if it was a site or link on a site.
It's bugging me now so I'll keep lookin also.
