Default VForce vs. P700 Help

Hey guys! First time posting. I currently have a 04 P700 and love it. I want to get a sport bike, but am getting confused. I had a Z400 and loved it. Thinking of another Z, but I love the V twin powerplant. My problem is that people keep telling me that the V doesn't handle very well on trails and is very hard to steer. How does it steer compared to a P700? Are these people being over critical? It does weigh over 500 lbs.! I have no complaints with the Prairie's handling. How will I like the V? Also any info I should know would be greatly appreciated. Thanks again!!

Default VForce vs. P700 Help

i have heard and felt otherwise i thought the v handled quite well....not as good as a z but damn good for a 500lb machine....it steers and turns in alot better than a prarie and the effort required is definately less so if you like the prarie you'd definately like the v...but i have heard that they like to eat up tie rods and ends kind of often tho...i also think that in the woods the v is a great machine...plenty of power..the suspension shines as long as you ride it aggressively..going slow its kind of choppy and harsh but when you get it going it definately smoothes out...and stay away from the "lava" colors i have seen a couple that were extremely brittle and have cracked off fenders as opposed to just flexing like the "normal" colors...go for it....you cant go wrong with a v-twin...hope i helped good luck..

If you like your p700, you will love the V. The suspension is a little harsh, but if you like the dunes it will be no problem.

I have a P700 and a V-Force. I like them both the V is a lot more fun to really get flying on. Turns cleaner and slids even better. Doesn't feel like 500 plus, carries it's weight well. Everytime I ride it and get a chance to really get on it I can't stop grinning. Only problem with sport quads is it is even more tempting to buy things to make them faster and prettier. I say take the V for a ride and I bet you buy one.

I went from a LTZ last month to a V and can say I have been pretty happy overall with my choice, The only thing I miss about the Z is the ability to man handle it around, Im not a little guy at 6' 1" and 250 but you are not going to treat the V like the 400 in that respect, But for my riding which is strictly trails and goofing off it is the perfect blend for someone like me, The steering is easy and the power is great, Once you get a set of pipes and a little clutch work The performance is just wakes up to a another level, I was really surprised after riding it for awhile how comfortable and overall how easy it is to ride

Thanks a lot guys! Your info really helps. I'm going to go sit on a V this week to see how it feels. I'll probably have one in my truck before I leave the dealership! Thanks again! Look forward to posting more.

I'll let you know. I'm pretty sure I'll go the V route, just don't think I can pass the twin. Although I loved my Z and the way I could throw it around, I love my Prairie as well. Just different beasts. Hopefully thats where the V comes into play!

Well guys, I did it. I picked up a KFX 700 last night. Man this thing has some low end, you barely hit the throttle and that front end comes up. I like that, but I don't think the wife does! I'll be checking it out this weekend. Let you know how it works out. Thanks again for the help.

I'd love to hear what makes it fast. The mediocre power is my only complaint. I love the handling and the fun factor, but I'm tired of getting creamed up the dunes.

Thanks!
