Default Brute Force 750 Problems

Anyone else having Transmission problems?

Just Hit 4 hours on my Brute Force 750 and it already has Transmission problems....keeps switch between 2 & 4 wheel drive on its own and will not go into reverse. Have been driving very carefully so it’s not from abuse. ..Thing that really ticks me off is that I went with the Kawasaki instead of the Polaris because I was told they had better reliability

to get reverse back you have to adjust the shifter ****, I have had to do this a couple of times for some reason, I assume that when it is in neutral the green light doesn't come on, this is what happened with mine, it was actaully in high when the shifter was in neutral. Ypu got me with the 4wd problem, it could be a faulty switch or a fuse with a bad connection, this should all be warrenty work but on my machine I just assume do it myself and know it was done right

Its tuff moving the shift lever into any position while the machine is running. Even into Neutral or low requires a lot of rocking of the machine or turning it off to get it to move. The difficulty shifting happened the same time the 2WD - 4WD indicator started switching back and forth on its own. Doesn't stay on either one for more then a few seconds before it switches. I've tried riding in 4 WD & 2WD with the same results.

Your problem with switching from 4wd to 2wd on the dash is either the actuator on the front diff., or the controller (little black box under your seat). Take it back to the dealer and have them fix it, that's what warranty is for.

First thing next week the dealer will be getting a service call....But as I stated I was hoping for reliability...I'm glad I purchased the 4 year extended warranty.

I just had the same problem and will pick mine up tuesday. Dealer said mine was a bad rear brake actuator. When they installed the new actuator it failed again so they replaced the actuator and the control box the second time. Hope this helps a little. By the way, the switching between 2 and 4 wheel drive is a trouble code used for troubleshooting...so i'm told.

Update.....

It’s been at the Dealer since last Thursday (9/9) and they are just now telling me that my BF also has a bad controller. The part won't be in for another week. I hope this fixes it.

I still think from what I have herd you are better off with the Brute, My local polaris dealer says that 50% of the 700EFI's that he has sold have come back with bad fuel pumps, and have left people sitting a long way from the truck. Not to mention the crank problems I have herd about, even the one ATV TV tested left them sitting on the bottom of a mountain.
I got just over 400 miles on my Brute so far it has been flawless, and I ride it hard in a lot of rocky terrain, put highlifter wheel spacers and badlands XTR's on it and it feels great.

Turn your idle up a bit and shifting will become a breeze if your shifter is adjusted properly.

Kawi650, you mean turn your idle down a bit don't you? If you are idling too fast autos can be hard to shift. BTW my Brute has about 250 miles on it now and it shifts smoothly and easily just like it did the day I brought it home, so there's no way the thing should be hard to shift or be in a situation where you have to regularly rock the thing to get it to shift. Something is definitely wrong in a case like that...
