I've had my BF for about a month and raced for the first time last weekend. I went riding with a guy that rides a nice 250r ATC with a couple of mods, my BF is bone stock. We raced up a sandhill for about 200' with about a 200' flat start, all sand. We raced three times, 1st time in 4wd I beat him by about three quad lengths. Second time 2wd we both had good starts and I beat him by one quad length. Third time by a quad and a half in 2wd. People under estimate these utility quads. Also asked a 400ex if he wanted to race and he turned me down. I think he didn't want to get beat by a utility.[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif[/img]

 

Dude it may be a ute, but its 500cc's bigger than that old Honda. That is 3 times the motor! Not too mention that it's a twin. I won't deny that a well tuned 2stroke is one powerful machine, but reality is you can throw 3 of those motors under the Brute. I would think that if he can beat you, you should bury your head in that sand.

 

I raced a modded 400ex and beat him up to about 60 MPH and then he pulled away. My Brute is stock and I had about 50 lbs on the guy. The Brute is hella powerful.

FifthHorseman you forgot to mention the BF is about three times heavier than the 250r. All I'm saying is that it's not as much of a mis match as you might think it is. The 250r is extremely popular and it's not because thier slow!!![img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-frown.gif[/img]
