new to the forum.did a search, no luck.got a new p-700 1 week ago.after 10 miles, i noticed a pinging-light rattle sound coming from the motor?-trans?i guessed it was the trans,not use to the auto.long story short,pulled the clutch,recoilstarter,checked all bolts on the machine,and still have the noise.noise starts at about 2000+ rpms,in nuetral or in gear.possibly camchain tensioner?cranks and runs fine.any ideas?....thanks..

 

did you try higher octane gas?

 

doesn't sound like spark knock at all.i haven't changed the gas though.

 

it could also be a loose heatshield on the exhuast, this happened on mine

 

i've checked practically all bolts,but i will re check.thanks..
