The idle on my loakota sounds clickish after the machine is good and warmed up...

nature of the beast - no big unless it gets like loud enough to really begin to worry - you are hearing normal slack in the valvetrain most likely

hey thanks alaskabayouguy! its awsome too talk too someone so far from my home state of PA!
how do you like the bayou 300? I have the lakota 300 which is almost the same thing exepth the four wheel drive. as for the idle....after like a half hour ridig it gets a bit lounder and clickish...then stays the same from there for as long as I keep riding.

I hope your right...thanks again..

Ive been to luzerne county many times, but havent heard of freeland. Im from Dimock up in susquehanna county.
By the way, i love the kota. Its great for almost any job(especially trail riding...cant be beat) And is one of the most durable out there.

The bayou suits my needs - Have no desire to go fast or to jump across canyons and other assorted hairbrain stuff like that - Seems to be durable enough although some of welds on the frame are of low quality. It is a bit tippy but like i said i dont go fast so i dont worry about that too much - Hard to get stuck on this quad which is surprising when it weighs almost 600 lbs. All in all i think i might like to move up to a prarie 360 but im not completly sold on the belt drive, just not my style. So alas my next quad will likely be a <sigh> honda.

tmax,
I agree the lakotas are great atvs. do u have the utility lakota? I swear the utility lakota doesnt even need four wheel drive...its awsomein mudd water you name it...i cant wait too test it out in the snow! the only thing that had me worried about mine was the clickish idle after it runs for a while...have you noticed this with your lakota?....
