V-Force jetting and airbox questions
#1
I'm helping a buddy out with a V-Force,
he just got dual exhaust system from Pro-Circuit, the T-4's.
put in a K&N with outerwear and lost the airbox lid completely.
150-155 jets are too lean, no low end, and sputtering at full throttle its so lean, 1500feet elevation.
Is elliminating the lid entirely a good idea, who has and who hasn't, and if not why?
What jets are you guys running with duals and open airbox?

I've got a dual HMF system, stock filter and i think 145 and 147.5 jets. I tried runnin mine without the airbox lid and it ran like crap. Put it back on and it ran normal. It does make a big difference. Try callin ProCircuit with your problem. I'm pretty sure they have done every possible combinations with airfilters and jet combos.

Put the lid back on,loose the Outwear they are hard to tune with on the V.The left side of the air box there is a slant in front on the bottom.Drill 1-1" hole and remove the stock snorkle with the jetting you have. You may have to shim the needle .020 and turn the air screws 2 turns out from closed. Also check the spark arresters for packing caked up on them.Make sure and do all your testing with super unleaded,I like to add a little octane boost(Outlaw). This should put you close, you may have to put a 152 jet in front.
