Why is Kawasaki offering both the Prairie 700 and Brute Force 650? If both are SRA, and neither is fuel injected, what is the point? Wouldn't it make better sense to offer the Brute Force 750 with a SRA? Or the Prairie with the 750 motor?

I was under the understanding that the 650BF is the same as the 750BF, but with the 633cc motor. I believe everything else is the same including the IRS, but I could be totally wrong. If it is the same as the 750BF other than the 633cc vtwin, then that makes a little more sence. It would be catering to people who don't want the massive motor, but wants the IRS with a v-twin motor. BUT, it it has a SRA, then to me, that is pointless since the prairie700 is the SRA bread-n-butter machine.

The 650BF is the P650 with BF plastics, that's it. It does not have IRS. I would really like to see the 750 motor in a Prairie set up.

That doesn't make any sence to have a 633cc v-twin BF with SRA since the prairie 700 v-twin already exist, and it tops in that area. It would have been better to have either a 650 BF with IRS along with the current 750BF and 700 prairie OR have a 750 prairie and 750 BF........go figure. And, why don't kawasaki make a 500cc v-twin prairie or BF???? They have a 360cc single cylinder prairie with SRA, but nothing in the mid 500cc range. I think they could really take a large portion of the 500cc market if they had a 500 v-twin with IRS and one with SRA. If I was a mfg, I would have a 350cc range, 500cc range and 750cc range utility quads and in each catagory, I would have both a IRS and SRA so the customer's have their choices. And the 500-750cc motors would be v-twin. Just my thoughts.

It's called cooperate marketing stratgedy. The new 650 is priced lower than other mfg's big bore single cyl quad like Polaris 500 Sportsman. Kawi is hoping that most people would go for a V-Twin quad that is cheaper than a single cyl quad. Kawi already has all parts for 650 and they are making the same 650 engine for ArtiCat so it makes a perfect sense to reintroduce it. Equipping 650 with IRS would cost them some $$ for retooling & additioanal R&D...
