hi, im looknig for an atv to be to ride around on some trails and to be able to go through a little snow. im also looking for some speed. a guy has one advertised for $850 and says it's in great conditon. im wondering if thats a good price and will it work for what i need it to?? thanks

That is a good price. I have one, but t's no speed demon. It will hit 50, but it won't get there fast. Miine has been a good quad, but it's a bit dated.

Trail riding, yes. As far as the snow goes, I don't know, but I doubt it.

I too have owned a bayou 300, actually 2 a '93 and a '94. Shouldnt be any difference to an '88 though. They are a VERY reliable machine and would work just fine for what you need. They dont have much speed, but being from central minnesota I can say they do go through plenty of snow. For that price I wouldnt hesitate at all.

It's got pretty good torque, I've pulled a trailer with 300 pounds of dirt in it with no problems.

is 300cc's enough for pulling a cart with like 300lbs to 400lbs in it??

They are pretty good for towing because they have high and low range. I still have my '94 that I use for plowing snow and pulling small trailers.
