hey, im sure you are talking more about the bigger prairies but here is what i think about mine. It has over 100 hours of hard riding. No problems. for the most part, kawies are a very reliable brand. If it wasnt for people abusing there machines by not useing low gear, people wouldnt have any problems.

I can't remember seein any recalls on a Prairie. Very tough and reliable machine. Now if you lift it and put some really big tires on it, then you will have probs. I'd say the Kawi is tougher than any other atv out there. Wish i had a prairie

Well, I have a Brute, but my neighbor has a 2002 Prairie with about 2200K miles on it.
It has been a good quad overall. He has had the belt replaced which was done around 1800 miles.
Otherwise, I beleive he had a leaky driveshaft seal which the extended warranty covered. Other than that, it's been great.
Plus.... V-Twins rule... noone can argue that!

The Prairie V-Twin is bulletproof, but this bike does have two weak links. The first is the KEBC system. The actuator and actuator controller are prone to failure. I had to replace mine after only 20 hours. The second is the swing arm bearings, but bearings are cheap. The electrical stuff isn't cheap.

2800 hard milles on my 02 650 prairie, replaced KEBC acuator approx. 100 miles ago under extended warranty so not sure what it would have cost, no other problems with it. 03 360 approx. 200hrs and brute force 750 150 miles no problems. I should also note when my acuator went out it did not seem to effect the performce, just made my 2/4wd display lights flash. I will keep buying kawi!

I have 166 hours and 890miles on my 2004 kawasaki 700prairie and I have had no problems other than buring up the belt due to my stupidity. I pulled a polaris 700 out of the mud in hi range. Now I do all my pulling in low range and it is awsome.
