Default REUNITED WITH THE BF

As some of you know, I owned a BF and TP700. I sold both of them and bought a KQ 700. I've been completely unhappy since then. I've ranted and bitched on the Suzuki forum and they got real tired of hearing it, and I don't blame them. The main problem centered around the lack of low end on the KQ. I'm used to v-twins that produce enormous low end power. If you take away the low end problem, the KQ is nearly perfect. However, I guess I'm one of those guys that prefers raw power over finese.

I bought another BF today. Yes, the KQ handles MUCH better, yes the KQ's ergos are MUCH better. Yes the KQ's IRS is MUCH better but the BF's power is intoxicating. It sounds awesome (KQ sounds like a lawn mower) and I have all the low end that I need now. I am one of the few that agrees with DW's conclusion in their most recent big bore shootout. I agree that overall the KQ is the best right now, but it simply doesn't satisfy my power urge. Bottom line: the BF is PERFECT for me despite it's well documented shortcomings.

Just takes gettin used to the BF handling. Glad you went back to Kawi. I could have told you the Suzuki sounded like a lawnmower, hahha. Put an exhaust system on that BF and hold on man! It will increase it a lot. Rejet it too and you won't be unhappy. Put some big tires on it and hit the mud pits. Its got awesome ground clearance. Good luck with yer new TOY!!!

I'm not into the handling thing w/ a utility quad. The B.F. feels stable to me w/ my ITP C5's and ITP 27" 589's. I to am in love w/ the Power and I'm 100% sure that it will trash the KQ in a deep mud hole.

I'm completely satisfied with my BF actually put a warn 2.5ci on it yesterday and it still wheelies good! On another note I went back to my local Zuki stealer yesterday and they still haven't been able to get rid of the one king quad they got in yet (large red boat anchor). They are a dealer who normally rapes people and never budge from MSRP yet they have it OTD for $7k and cannot get rid of it. I bet they wish the kawi dealer was further away.

I want to know how you can buy all those new quads and not loose your shirt when you sell them? I lost 2 grand on a quad twice when I sold them after a couple months.

CAM650,
I am curious about you trading back to Kawi. I have a question this is just a thought. If you could have revamped the bottem end would you have stayed with the KQ 700? I have a few reasons why I am so far staying with Kawi over the KQ as in durability and electronics for instance. Personaly I am waiting for February when the new Outlander comes out and I understand Yamy will offer a twin cylinder Grizz as well 2005 should be interesting. There is a lot of people who don't care about the bottom end thing a drag race is not in their vocabulary, personally like yourself, I like that Head Snappin Kind of Power. Is the power of the Kawi strong enough of an influence that you are willing to over look handling, Ergos, and IRS? Once you have had that kind of power it is hard to go back!!!!

LOL 2005BF750, I sold them to friends, didn't loose much. Besides, it's only money! LOL. Quads are my only bad habit. I don't drink or smoke or any of that fun stuff and everyone has a bad habit, quads are mine.

ALLTOYS, yes the power brought me back. The KQ's power was in my opinion, on par with my old P650, maybe a tad better. That was simply unacceptable to me. Other than the power, the quad is perfect as I stated above, far better than the BF in my opinion. However, I was very ready to switch back because NOTHING sounds and runs as good, in stock form, than a BF in the utility class. I suspected that the KQ would be slower but I thought I could overlook that in favor of EFI and superior handling and ergos. I just wasn't happy. The low end hesitation on the KQ is the single most annoying trait the KQ has. It kills the machine in my opinion.

I've heard about the new Bombardier and the new Yamy. I too am very excited about them. But in the future I'll sit back and wait for RELIABLE reports to come in about how they stack up against the Kawi's, they're just hard to beat in my opinion. Also, my wife is getting pi$$ed about all these new quads! LOL Is February the release date on the new Yamy and Bomb?

Cam650,
February is for Bomb not sure about Yamy even Honda is coming out with a twin cylinder for 2006 not waiting for that one, lol. Bomb has my interest mostly because of the trailing arm suspension I was going to buy a 400 but it is hard to drop down in power after the Kawi. As a second quad I might think about a 500 but 650 or larger would be the answer. If it is the twin I am hoping it is, BMW motorcycles has a 1000cc sport touring bike the bottom end is identical to the motor going into the Outlander both are Rotax developed by Bomb. If all reports are accurate the jugs from the 1000 will fit on the 800( if that is what it is) this makes for an interesting future quad. Rotax IMO is the best motor made they give more HP than their displacement of equivalent size from other brands. Another stand point is the clutch from a Bomb, it is much easier to modify this clutch than any other quad with CVT. An example of good clutching and motor power is sled pulls. I have been to numerous sled pulls where Bombs are entered and they mostly win hands down. I had my slightly modified Kawi to one where a fellow had a bone stock Traxter he had full pulls all day long. I full pulled also till the last run fell short by 20 feet. I am sold on Bombs engineering ergos, motor, just not their big heavy machines. 1000#s stuck in the mud is a far cry from 600#s in the mud, almost as if you have to pull out 2 quads instead of one!! February can't get here fast enough!!!!

Only thing I hate about Bombardier is that they squeeze the most possible horsepower out of the factory. They don't leave a lot of room for hop up parts. I know with their personal watercraft they got the prob of engines blowin up. Plus, some people don't check their injection oil!!
