The 400ex carb will clean up the bottom end and give you a little better throttle response due to the accelerator pump on the carb. Also the 400ex carb is 1.5mm larger in diameter than the stock Mojave carb. The install is simple. The 400ex carb mounts right inside the existing boot on the cylinder intake. You will however need to purchase a 400ex throttle and throttle cable. Look on ebay...I purchased everything for about $75. Also, to get the most out of the Mo gut the stock air box. All it does is sufficate the bike. Buy a UNI 2-stage clamp-on filter, and slip an Outerwears pre-filter over it and your good to go. Of course, don't forget to re-jet for the carb and increased air flow.

kwackermann:

I live in Neenah, WI about 45 min. south of Green Bay. I mainly ride in the Mountian & Dunbar areas. I also like to ride in Black River Falls. How are you projects cominng along?? You've got two quads now right??

MOJAVEalltheway:

I forgot to mention that you will also want to remove the choke on the 400ex to eliminate airflow disturbance. You will need to bump the pilot jet up to 42 and you're good to go.

Yes, Hare- 2 quads. They're just about all done. I'm encountering a bog on teh mojave right now from off idle to mid. I'm gonna timker with the air screw or go up a pilot to address this. The lakota that I got was in grreat shape- I mean great shape, then engine cases aren't scratched anywhere, even the plastice case covers arent even scratched- the previous owner like babied this thing, so I'm really happy with it.

I was thinking about doing this to my mojave. I was just wondering it it is possible to use the air box or if there is a waterproof clamp on filter, i would still like to go through water and not have to worry. Thank you.

will the added power from the carb and a clamp on filter, beable to make me do wheelies easier. Will the added power be worth not going in the mud and water. I have a wolverine also, so i wont be restricted, and about a 5 acres of a swamp perfect for muddin.

Greg at CWR, said the EX carb does not do much for the Mojave. If you want a diff. carb, go with the 36mm Mikuni. Greg has it for $135, and will pre-jet it for you. I will be getting mine in a few weeks. his web site is http://www.cycleworksracing.net. He has more Mojave parts than anyone. Hope this helps.
