Brute Force
#1
Just bought new 650 brute force, looking for easy mods to help get it race ready! Thinking about running 22" ITP holeshots, would they be functional or would they cause gearing problems! I will be racing the utility class OMRA GP Series, ground clearance is not an issue on these tracks!

No 22" Tires will not work, at least thry will not help you race. Two things will happen 1st you will louse all your top end and alot of your mid range. The gearing is all wrong for 22" 2nd you about 3" of ground clearance. Another problem is finding 22" tires for the front that are for 12" rims, You need to keep the frount sized matched to the back for the 4 wheel drive and the front brake rotors need the 12" rims to clear them. Stick with 25" and keep them as lite as possable to keep up your power levels.

thanks for the info. I was going to use the wheel and tires off the V force, I got a set of mud lites with the new quad 26 in. but I did not think that would good for racing. I still have stock tires

I Should also tell you, you are right about the mud lites not being good for racing. A 500 vinny could outrun you if the vinny has stock tires and you are running the big mudlites, its all about unsprung weight. I didn't beleave it till we set out a few weeks ago test severak different trie and wheel combo's and discovered just how much a big heavy tire and wheel can impact performance. Your quad will be much faster on its stockers.

My buddy put a icm power pak on his 750bf this weekend. Before that he couldnt get the frontend to come up but now with him weighing 300 plus and big outlaws on it he can pull it up easy. I could not believe the difference it made.

I would think they should all wheelie very easily anyway if the power is true. Only rode a BF 750 at the dealer's lot. But my so called weak Rincon will now after re adjusting the idle and mixture screws wheelie with ease.
Its 175 miles and today I set the fuel/air screw about 2 1/2 turns out. It made a difference I can put it in 4wd and on pavement from a dead stop nail it and it comes up quick and easy without even pulling on the bars.

My BF would wheelie like nuts with the stock Dunlops but since I put on C4's and 26x10x12 Dirt Devils all the way around it takes a whole lot of body english to get the front end up and has to be from a dead stop. I haven't had much of a chance to experiment with tire pressure to see if that would help. Running about 4psi all the way around right now. The DD's break loose so easy under hard throttle.
