Default Mojave question

Looking at buying a guys 1991 Mojave 250. He just had it bored to a 300 he said. He said now there is a problem with the timing chain. He said timming chain track is loose. Is this hard to fix and what does it all involve? Also he said it is burning a little bit of oil now. He says he wants $700 for it.
