ATV Safety Course
#1
I received a phone call last week from a man stating I was entitled to attend a ATV Safety Course because I purchased a new Brute Force.
The course for last weekend was booked up, my question is has anyone else been contacted about such a course or was this some type of scam?
He said the course was free.

More than free Kawasaki should give you $100 to attend! Its well worth it in my opinion. 1/2 a day of time to get $100 to ride your atv and become a better/safer rider is good in my book.
They do this to reduce thier liability if you hurt yourself. In Colorado there is talk that some day the class may be required to ride on public lands. Kind of like a drivers license required to drive a car...

this training he was possibly talking about was through ASI (American Safety Institute). ASI is an organization formed between manufacturers and the CPSC. Most manufacturers offer a $100 rebate for taking this class as Mike already stated.

When we bought our first ATV from Kawi the dealership told us of this training program and really urged me to take the course. I found it well worth the time and had a good time doing it.
Fun and easy way to make a hundred bucks as well.

Its no scam. Yamaha paid me 75 bucks to take the course (when I bought my new YFZ).
Even though I went only for the free money, I actually wound up learning a little from the deal too!!
I used one of the instructors atvs instead of my own (new YFZ), and wound up going through the obstacle course on a utility atv!
So you see, no matter how good, or how long you've been riding, there is ALWAYS something new to learn!
Go for it!

I was also contacted by Kawasaki and set up for a time to take this course Jan 22nd. I'm glad you posted this, I was wondering if it was going to be worth the time. I'm glad to hear everyone had a good time. I know I can stand a few pointers and for sure the $100.
