I need a CV axle and wondering if my lift caused the one to blow, I heard that Kawi's were only 15 degree CV's and that gorilla etc are listed as 40 degree.

If Kawi's are only 15 degree I see no sense in rebuilding the busted one but to order aftermarket. I can get the Kawi axle rebuilt for 150 bucks, new they are listed for 500CAD. Gorilla's are 275 a piece but only come with the lower CV. Has anyone gone with thie gorilla option to know how they work?

I might rebuild if I thought it would hold with the extra lift. If not I will have to go spend my life savings.

Does anybody know about the degree capability of the kawi CV joints?

I went with the gorilla's half shafts which needed no return of my old axles, I might be able to sell the good one and get some of my money back. 585.00 US with shipping, should be just under 800.00 CAD after tax.

Now, to pay off the credit card,

 

Mine from Axle System were $900cdn for 2 complete axles, Call them up. Isaw the site only shows half shafts, but mine are totally redone, all new.

 

Good halfshafts on ebay go for a pretty penny, you could surely make some money back. I just replaced my front left one from a CV builder I found on Ebay. they were new not rebuilt for 159 bucks and I didnt have to send in a core. I still have the broken one and cant make myself throw it out.

 

CV joints usually have an operating range of 30 degrees.

 

Thanks cvman, 30 degrees, I'll have to check out my quad hanging on the jack to see how much they are on. I went with the gorilla's and get to keep my old axles, should be close to 800CAD, enough cash to heat my house for the winter but might get some back by selling my old axles.
