I have a 03 650 and today it was 5 degree out and it would start and then die did it 3 times then would turn over but would not start I have the screws on carberator out 2 1/2 turns put heater on for 1/2 hour and finnely stated would valves need adjusting not rattlying and I have 800 miles on it

 

Take a look at the thread that says " Pairie 650 cold startingf" which is back about 5 or six posts before yours...there is much discussion there that will shed light for you.
