Default Just bought a KFX400 and have some questions?

I just got a KFX400 a few days ago. The ATV is a few days old but it is making this noise. I think it is coming from the rear disc brake. It sounds like a squeaky noise or sheering noise. What could it be?

Need a little more info. Is the quad brand new? When do you hear the noise?

It is a 05 it comes and go's. Me and a freind took the rear brake off and checked for a rock or something that could be causeing it but found nothing.

Well, if it happens only as the brake is applied it could be that you need new pads, or the pads are glazed a bit from getting overheated. The rotor could be bent or warped also. The stock swingarm skid is pathetic on most sport quads, and the KFX is in that category i'm afraid. It is pretty easy to hit something and knock the rotor out of whack. Could be a ton of other things too, those are just some causes if the noise is truly coming from the rear brake. Also, make sure it isn't a loose/missing bolt causing things to move around.

I just called the service dept from were I bought it. They want me to take it in to them. But I live 80 miles from where I bought it. I dont want to have to take it all the way back to them.
