Default Mods for a 2003 650?

Yes I know I can read every topic on a search. I wanted to ask a fresh question on this.
I have a 2003 650 that Iam taking apart to repair low gear, so at this time I was thinking that this would be a good time for mods.

#1 I would like to do a slip on exhaust. Is this worth it for power or should I cut out my oem exhaust. Which one should I get?

#2 Does the dyno jet carb kit worth the time to install, does it work?

#3 I am running 27"589 tires to run in mud, should I do the clutch kit and what colors ones to buy?

#4 I was thinking of the lift has anyone had problem after installing the lift? [CV joints]

#5 Last one. Should I get the offset key or a plug in type cdi and which one is the hot set up?

I can sped a few hundred but not thousands. I am looking for input on what works and whats a waste of money.
Thanks Brian

Default Mods for a 2003 650?

If I was wanting to greatly improve my quad (on a budget) I would get a Dyna CDI, Dalton Orange/Blue primary spring, EPI black secondary, and a set of progressive or Elka springs.

Exhaust is nice but it doesnt have the great gains that it has in a two stroke. Jet kits help and are needed when you do exhaust or airbox mods but once you start with jetting it is often an on going project. (I kept mine stock until I HAD to change)

The lift is your own call, but keep in mind, one of advantages of the Prairie is its low center of gravity, when you raise it the quad will be less stable on hill climbs and cornering.

The Dyna CDI will make a huge difference and its plug and play. Cost is $240 and instal time is 3 minutes.
Both springs are $20 each, Install time with the right tools is about 30 minutes for both. With 27 inch tires I would recomend the clutch spring change.

Progresive or Elka springs are a great improvement in both ride and stability. The front doest dive at hard breaking or going down hills and the ride is much better. Progresive springs are normaly between $120 and $150. Elkas are usually $100 more (but are true progressive springs) double rate. Either one will help nicely. Just my 2 cents
