P360 winch mount question
#1
Hi, What's up!
Got a couple questions about mounting a winch to my P360 4x4:
1. I read somewhere that you can mount a winch to the P360 without a mount plate. Is this true? Or do I need a winch mount plate?
2. Where do you mount the solenoid?
3. What do ya'll think about the multi-mount system? Is it useful or just gimp stuff? It seems like the plugs would get plugged with mud. . .
Thanks in advance

I bought a winch mount for Cabela's but did not like the way it put the winch way out front of the grill. Cut it apart and modified the way it mounted. Moved it back a bunch. Still not happy with the way it set so made a mount with a reciever that allows mounting the winch to pull to the front or with the fairlead pointed down to lift the plow. Next step was to add a reciever to the rear of the quad that allows pulling from the rear. So far I have had no problems with junk getting in the plug sockets but then I always keep them covered with tape and haul the winch in the back box.
I don't know about being able to mount a winch with no mount plate. There are some holes that may match up to some winches in the front of the quad.
My son did the wiring for the winch at the same time he put the speedometer in for me. The relay is under the seat near the battery. He used extra heavy leads for the feeds to the winch recievers to cut down on resistance and improve efficiency. I know he had all of the plastic off the quad while doing the wiring for the winch, backup lights, sprayer and spotlight.

ow great, I was just today looking at purchasing a Warn 2500 with the 360 mount, but after reading this post it sound to be a huge pain in the rear with unfavoriable results, is this true or is not that bad??

I used the mount from Kawasaki to mount the Warn 2.5 on mine. Got it from the dealer, it's also available on the Kawasaki website.
Works great, winch is behind the bumper below the oil cooler. There is no way that flat piece of tin that is in there is going to hold up to winching, the winch mounting plate and side brackets are 1/4 inch steel.
It was not that hard to mount, just figuring out where to run the wires took the most time. I mounted the solenoid on top of the toolbox. It may not look like there is room for it, but there is.

I'm not familiar with the Warn. I will have to find a pic to compare.
The Kawasaki website has a good pic of the 360 w/winch. I don't have the roller fairlead, so it sticks out even less. The only Warn pic I could find was on a bigger Prairie, which has a different front end.
