Love my prairie 650, bought it new in 2002. No problems.

Either 650 or 700 will make a permanent smile on your face. Don't forget to check out the Suzuki Twin peaks, its the same bike as the Kawasaki Prairie 700 but in different colors/logo. The BF 650 is your best MSRP price and has all the refinements of the 700 and just marginally slower than the 700. Your best bet is to ride them and decide if the 700s are worth the X-tra cash.

Performance and handling can be drastically improved on all machines by adding aftermarket tires, front shock springs, clutch springs, and CDI/module. Stock machines have more/best in class power than you'll ever need for just toodling around.

Happy trails,

Hey Bruin,
I just bought the BF650. It was way less than the 700. I cant imagine needing much more power than this thing has but if you do and with the cost diff you can stick on a few mods and make it compete all day long with a 700. I say go for the BF650

Thats great! I new you would be happy with the purchase. Strange thing, My brother went up and bought a Vforce Friday, The next day his truck screwed up on the way home. Has to be towed to the shop. Does that sound familiar? Did you get your truck problem resolved?

I bought the P700 without ever seeing one or riding one before. I was slightly hesitant because of that unknown factor.

But, I absolutely love my Praire. It really is like riding a Cadillac in the dirt... I really like the V-Force too, but I think I need the racks and 4x4 abilities of the P700. I also have a 660 Raptor, and I pretty much don't touch it, since I bought the Kawasaki.

If you ride the Kawasaki, I think you will want one too. The BF 650 is basically a Prairie with updated plastic....I doubt it's any slower than the 700....

P.S. I haven't had to touch the quad maintenance wise, other than change the fluids and clean the air filter....

I just replaced the stock tires with the Maxxis Bighorn radials and ITP Type 4 (black) wheels, and even though I haven't had it out since I put that on, I know it will handle even better than it did before.

not yet I rented one for $250.00 bucks for the weekend ouch......But it was worth it. Not sure what I am going to do yet. I've got a big car loan on a BMW740il that kills me evry month so I may sell that and buy a new truck, just takes time>>>

Brute Force 650 IMHO. They are both great machines and you are basically comparing apples to apples. Both my dad and brother have the prairie 700. My brother said that if he had it to do all over again that he would take the 650 with all the upgrades and plastics. My bike is awesome, I got it to 64 mph fully stock and with a few more mods, I will run with and/or beat my dad's and brother's 700's all day.
