Kawaski 650 is reality!

Making some Major Moves! This was as good of a move for Kawasaki as you could get. Even better than a new sport quad. This will attract mucho attention and sell no matter the price. It will cost a buttload too. I'm going to be in the market when it comes out. We'll have to see what other goodies this thing has. Damn the anticipation.

If it is anything like my AC, then I am very interested. Everything else looks good. I still don't care for an automatic, but this one may cover all the other bases that the Sportsman didn't. For me that is. Not a bash by any means.
The things I was sceptical about on the Sportsman was the plastic racks (don't really prefer them), non linked 4wd system (2wd on downhills), and plastic floorboards. These may be taken care of on the Prairie. The reason the sportsman always came out for me over Rubicons and Grizzlies, was the suspension, and the disc brakes. The Kawa will have that, along with steel racks and floorboards, and looks like it has the fender clearance to accept 27" tires without a lift like my AC will.
For me, the 4wheels linked in 4wd is a key. That is the main thing I didn't like about the sportsman. The 650 may not even have this. Don't know yet, but I figure it will. I'm hoping it has some differential lock similar to the king quad. You never know. I don't expect it, but it is possible. I seriously don't expect IRS. Basically, it seems like everything is there as far as what I'm looking for. Plus, I have always been a fan of kawasaki's reliability. Dates back to the original four. Suzuki was the least reliable then. Honda first, and Yamaha and Kawasaki tied for second closely behind. Suzuki's downfall back then being light front ends and too many chain driven utilities. This is mid 80's I'm talking about.
I am truly excited to see what this will be like. Full specs and all. It may be something I don't want, but it looks good right now.

Prairie 650 V-Twin.It's a 633cc Twin, with Twin 32mm carbs. The gas tank is under the seat.the control functions are up where the gas tank normally sits.It has selectable four-wheele drive that features a new unique front diff.
A handelbar-mounted control will allow the driver to maximize power to both front wheels, according to Kaw.Locking the front diff. for TRUE FOUR-WHEEL DRIVE.
Weight maybe as low as 600 pounds, with aluminum floorboards and a aluminum swingarm.
With MacPherson Struts and a single shock swingarm'the suspension offers seven inches of travel at all four corners....
HOPE THIS HELPS SOME.....
