Default Power gains with .060 over bore, Rolsmojave?

Would i get a decent power gain with a .060 piston and a .420 cam, and also how many cc's would i gan. Rolsmojave, you are the only other person on these fourms that has a bored out mojave/lakota i think, how do you like it? Also ould it give me more compression and should i be able to take some warriors and come close to a 400ex because i want to start doing drags and mx racing

The cam will give you gains, a higher compression piston is good, too. The .006 overbore will give you next to nothing; it's merely designed to clean up a worn/scratched bore to bring the engine up to new engine specs. The cc's you gain won't be enough to notice, but if the bore is worn, it's the way to go. Go with a minimum overbore if cleaning up the engine. If you go with .006 and that's the biggest piston availible, you have got nowhere to go if you hurt the engine and need to bore again.

Great advise from NovaKaw!! Alot of people make that mistake because it sounds bigger and better but really all your doing is cutting your engine life in half. Save some metal for next time. I was planning on going big bore when I had the heads and cams done but was advised by several shops not to. The internals of my engine looked like brand new and they told me it would be a shame to bore out an engine that looked that good. The exhaust valves were the only thing that looked like they were used. (so they were replaced). So now I might get a second chance if I have engine trouble.

ok...i am here..i got a .40 over and it's a noticeable improvment over the stocker..it has more torque if i can recall the first ride...the cam should bump up the power a lot also

Unless your new .04 piston was of a higher compression, or the previous piston/rings were worn out, there would be virtually no difference in power.

Mine had a .040 over wiseco and I noticed no gain at all. I had megacycle mid-top cams with powroll springs and titanium retainers and that was crazy. No gains without a new cdi though, you'll just be pissing in the wind. I had also taken a dremel to my ports while my head was off.

greg said that the compression would be boosted to 10:5:1 over the stock 8:6:1
