Kaw 300

I need some expert advice. A friends wife (in her 50's) has a used 300 2x4 for sale, its a 2002. My question is can 2 wheel drive be used on the hills, very steep hills to pull firewood out on a trailer. I know a 4x4 would be better, but my budget is limited and I think I can get a very good deal on this one. I was hoping to do a little snow plowing also. Not sure this would do the job. Speed means nothing to me I am older, just want to do some work with it around the farm.

I would say NO, to hauling a trailer up hill with wood in it. It's hard with a 4x4 to do that, they spin out if you don't have enough momentum.
I would say go with an Older Kawi Bayou 4x4, they have low range and can haul for a small motored ATV because of it. They also have a semi independent rear end which makes it smoother in the trails and rough which will also give you more traction for wood hauling.
Plowing snow you will need a 4x4 also, in two wheel drive you will spin a lot, especially on ice, you will definitely need chains on a 2x2 but not on a 4x4.
Even an old Honda 4x4 would do you much better,
