The rear shock is gone, oil is leaking everywhere from the top of the shock. Can this be repaired? The local dealer said I have to buy a hole new shock @ $1250 plus labour!!!!!

Is there an easy fix? and do they break often?I only have 1600mi on the atv

I dont know about a fix, but before I spent $1250 on a new stocker I would upgrade to an elka for around $800 or find someone parting one out on ebay.

some of the aftermarket V Force shocks will fit ( I think the ones with remote ressies )... there is a guy on the "other" Kawi forum that rebuilds the front struts... I'm sure he could do the rear for a fraction of the replacement cost... Works now offers replacement front struts that are tuned for your weight & riding style... not sure, but would suspect they offer a rear shock as well, & I know the Works struts are less money than the O.E. replacents, so I'd suspect the rear shock is as well...
