Default Should you plow HI or LOW Gear?

Hi folks...

Just put on my new 5ft Kimpex snow plow on my Kawasaki 650 and was wonder does it matter if you plow in Hi or Low gear? What should I do? anything I need to be aware of?

Thank you all

LOW gear. Basically the only time you use high gear is when you are going over 25 mph and it is smooth. Low gear is what you use to keep the belt running smoothly. low gear for anything slow, work, mud, hills and basic crusing of trails.

Thanks for the reply. I figured it was in LOW, but no where in any instructions did it ever say anything for plowing. I thought I'd best ask all the experts that actually use one! Thanks for your feedback.... greatly appreciated!

i run low when i plow also for mud or steep hills, up and down. but the other day was in about 12"s of snow and it was so much more fun in HI. ya know, heck with the belt, i'm gonna tear it up!!!!! just kiddin, but the snow didnt seem as taxing on everything like i thought it was gonna be otherwise i wouldve run low, well actually was in and out of low and hi all ride.

If you guys are looking for a good reliable plow for a good price I highly recommend the warn provantage set up my brother in law has had his for a few years and I just got one with a 54" blade for my 05 aritic cat 500 but I got a front mount I hate under mounts you can't keep the plays on over the off season cause you will hit them and then have to replace them there are only like 4 company's that make a front mount for mine and from what I've herd as seen warn is the way to go the plow will come all the way up on to my front rack and lift snow hi it cost me 430.00 ship and had it in 3 days

I've been plowing with a 72" Cycle Country plow on my AC 500 manual shift. Apples and oranges, but I'v found that 2nd gear Low range works well. Seems to plow easier when you are going 12-15 mph. My drive way is 500+ yards long, don't have all day to ***** foot around.
