Default Brute Force Suspension

I have a Brute Force 750 with ITP Type C wheels and 26" Holeshot ATR's. The tires stiffened the ride quite a bit (pressure at 5.5). Preload was one up from softest on both ends. Going across ice on lake hitting drifts the back end was rebounding pretty bad and wanting to pass the front end. Set the pre-load on rear one step stiffer. Helped, but really rides kind of stiff now. Can't afford $ 1800 for Pro Works shocks like Dirt Wheels mag. Any suggestions? Anyone have the Elka recreational series for the Brute?
