(for those of you who own 440 kits on KFX/Z/DVX) How reliable are the 440 kits? What do ride (mx, trails etc...)? How long have you had it? What failed? What's your gearing? do you need to gear up?

Thanks.

A buddy of mine has a KFX 440 and it runs great. Quality home build with off the shelf parts. I believe he changed gearing but I'm not sure what to.

Another friend has a 440 z, blew the top end the first time out. Havent torn it apart yet to find out why.

I just installed a 440 kit for a customer of ours and it is a very good mod to do. Very freakin ungodly fast!! He did gear it for more low end but he put the stock gears back on cause with the kit, he had tons more power so he went through all the gears too fast with lower gearing. He geared it for more top end i think. He did other mods to the air filtration system too. K&N all over it. Re-Jetted full HMF system. Yea, it hauls ***!!! So far so good it hasn't had any probs. He loves it and can beat 450R's now!!! I rode it for about 10 or 15 minutes and it is awesome. I think its a great investment.

How long-ago exactly did you install the kit? Does he ride it hard?

Sorry, I havent talked to him since last month and I probably wont see him until the memorial day ride. I would imagine that it was a valve from the problems he had.
