Spit and sputter Bayou 250
#1
I have a 2004 Bayou 250 that misses badly at an idle and even sometimes dies at idle cold or warmed up. Using the choke a little helps. Is it to lean? The thing only has about 30hrs. on it.

turn up your idle adjustment its a **** near your left foot if you were sitting on it turn it up a 1/4 turn at a time but dont go nuts if you hear a real difference in the idle while adjusting then you went too far

Yep, check the idle speed, and if its still missing, check the spark plug. How old is the gasoline, in the tank? It could also be the mixture screw is too lean, or the valves need adjustment.

I had a '88 Warrior that was doing the same as yours, the problem was a little piece of a leaf stuck over the hole on the idle jet. Try the idle adjustment first and plugs, after idle adjustment crack open the throttle a few times to let it seat into postion.

Might also get you a can of spray carbureator cleaner, remove the airfilter, raise the engine high rpm (At least 3/4 throttle) and spray carbureator cleaner till engine boggs (Continue hold throttle open), letengine speed speed regain/smoke clear and repeat 3-5 times then Change your plug.
Ensure air cleaner is clean/properly serviced with filter oil.
