the stupid fan stoped working not too long ago (i relized this when the over heat light came on and i was driving in lik 15 degree weather..) but i removed it because i like to take stuff apart and the fan is locked up and it sounds like its grinding things inside of it... should i buy a new one from kawi or is there a place to get the orginal fan and fan blade anywhere else? was the prices on this thing? thanks.. i would really like to ge back out ridin [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif[/img]

i had this problem , and i`ll tell you a new one from the stealership is about 300bux and thats not including the blade
what i did is found a cbr900 rr fan , it`s identical except the plug and the vent line and only cost me 50 bux
some people are using fluidyne fans but the dont fit in the shroud as nice
i have pictures and stuff in another thread somewhere , i`ll try and post a link to it
here is both fans , v fan on left
you might also want to check that your blade is balanced mine looked to have got hot and mounting hole went off center off center fan pic
and dont forget to look at the fuse under the seat , mine was bad as well

thanks for the help i think im goin to get the fluidyne one and make it work.. i been reading about how other people have done that.. but i dont kno how long im goin to keep my V anyways.. oh yea! my fan blade was way off centerd as well!

I went to the auto wreckers and picked up a fan motor out of a Chevy Sprint... $5.00 it is exactly the same fan motor that was on my Prairie 400 4x4.. even the same manufacturer!! had to change 1 mounting hole and it worked fine.

yea i dont like to play in the mud too much.. and when i do get it muddy i wash that thing for hours [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif[/img] but yea i think i wana sell the thing.. im not so sure yet cause i just got it back out and been riden it but ill see i guess..
