hey guys my name is steve, i am new around here and i just got a real quick question. Well my great grandmother has given me a 1991 or 1992 kawasaki bayou 220. I t hasnt been run in a while and i want to get it going again but i need to change the oil. i dont have the owners manual so i cant look in there. so i was wondering if any of you guys no how much and what kind of oil i need to put in it.

My manual says that 2qt. if you're not changing the filter and 2.2qt. if you are. I run 20/50 in my bayou 220 but you can run 10/30 to 20/50.

 

I use to have a 220 Bayou. In the summer I ran 20w50 and in the winter 10w40. I had a blast on that 220. Make sure you clean the air filter once in a while. They get dirty real quick.

 

Yeh i was thinking about buying one of those K&N filters that are made for the bayou 220. has anybody ever tried one or have any experience with them. K&N is a great name when it comes to air filters and there only about 29.99 and they are supose to last for ever.

 

If you get the K&N make sure you get the filter oil for it. They sell some kind of cleaning kit for K&N's that has everything you need to keep it clean and oiled.
